Air Jordan 'Raptors' 7
Of course they had to name these Jordans after our great and elite basketball team the Raptors. So what if the best player(Vince Carter) we ever had bailed out on us? We're gonna see the playoffs logo one day at The ACC. For now let us enjoy these beautiful Raptor 7's that hit the shelves Saturday. You already know what it is if you're gonna go footlocker or champs, set that alarm clock to 9:00 a.m. baby OR you can pre-order them from a few sneaker boutiques around the city. I personally only fuck with Ugly Duk' ling at 4 Edward St. (corner of Yonge & Dundas).

Disciplines
Generic Surplus and Obey present 'Disciplines', A short film set in Los Angeles about photographer and bassist for the Dum Dum Girls, Malia James, DJ/Producer, Gaslamp Killer and artisit/skateboarder, Gareth Stehr. They share their stories of how they came together and brought together their artistic and creative talents to collaborate with Obey. Discussing their journey took to turn their passion into a profession. DOPE shoes and a extremely successful collabo, I'm not sure if these would be on sale here in Toronto but I'm pretty sure they should hit the shelves if they aren't already there. Here is the video and the collaboration collection.

Nike Lebron X
First off I can't wait for the NBA playoffs next season just to see what new jokes they're gonna come up with about Lebron because the ringless ones are over. While King James became a member of the championship club this NBA season, he also went to work this summer along with the rest of the NBA superstars that destroyed any sort of opponent in there way (where the hell was the Canadian team man?). He also got a gold medal and to add to that, the King completed an extremely successful decade under Nike's sponsorship. So in celebration, Nike and The King decide to put these joints out rumoured to retail at $180.00 US and another Nike+ basketball model is for $315.00 US, to be released sometime between Jan. 13th/2013 - Feb.15th/2013. Not gonna lie, the Lebrons were booty for about 2-3 years when he was in Cleveland but Nike stepped up their design game and I definitely see how they're collectibles and extremely comfortable.
Here are some photos of different colour ways:

Sneakers are a Lifestyle
This video is so self explanatory for all sneakerholics and it personally describes each and every bit to my sneaker addiction. For the sneakerheads you will love and appreciate this video cause you could relate in so many different ways. For the people who are just starting to collect sneakers or just wonder what the hype is behind sneakers this video explains the lifestyle perfectly. Enjoy, S/O to http://www.bbcicecream.com:
Obey Your Swagg
Ain't nothing like knowing your gonna go back to school in a couple of days, as you sit and ponder about where the fuck did three months of my summer go? Obey drops there fall collection of bags for all types of student ones looking to put books, ones looking to put sneakers and ball shorts, ones looking to put everything except books, and ones looking to put other shit that might get em' locked up. Obey actually have been stepping up their accessory game big time and actually competing with Jansport and north face, etc. brands that were popular when I went to high school. Changed The Game
Mase, Puff Daddy, LL Cool J are just some of the Celebs. growing up had the cleanest Nike's. Made me save all my damn allowance money just to cop a pair of Nike's at the end of the year but it felt so damn good getting a clean pair of Nike's. Nike has beyond any doubt changed the game for basketball shoes, they absolutely set the bar high not to say Reebok and Adidas don't have stripes (no pun intended) but Nike just took over in these last couple decades. Here are my Top 3 favourite basketball shoes not including Air Jordan's:
AIR FORCE 1 "PEARL COLLECTION" LIMITED EDITION
The air forces are the most memorable sneaker of all time and it was named the sneaker of the decade by Nike. Nike pays homage to the air force ones by designing this mixture of the new and old air force one design. The shoe comes equipped with lateral side with freshly minted new gold coloring, vintage gold patina on the medial side, Gold-speckled patterns and laces, leather edges, a debossed perforated pattern on the toe box, and a leather wrapped speckled midsole. Sneaks are set to be released August 31 IN LIMITED QUANTITIES.
Stussy Worldwide
For those who don't know about stussy already, it is a German based skateboarding brand that's been around for a bit. It only caught fire in the past couple 4 or 5 years with the growing popularity of skateboarding as a sport and in the hiphop culture. Stussy is a unique brand of streetwear and their popularity has made them famous worldwide. Like obey they also do collaborative work with other artists and designers to constantly reinvent themselves and also giving us something new something fresh. Their Fall collection just dropped on their website, I put up some pics of what I'd like but the website has a WIDE variety of ish to look at. Also they got a shop right on 431 Richmond St. W & Spadina Ave. next to the XO popshop great collection over there. www.stussy.com

A Rose That Grew From Concrete
It broke my heart too last year to see the one man wrecking crew Derrick Rose to go down like that in the playoffs especially when he didn't need to be in the game at that point. Derrick Rose is definitely coming for that number one point guard spot in the NBA at a rapid pace and after having a huge successful breakthrough in the NBA so did his sneakers worldwide. Dwight Howard might be the face of basketball for Adidas but, Derrick Roses' sneaker is rapidly outgrowing Dwight Howard's. With consistently dropping ill sneaks Adidas keeps the fire alive with Rose 3.0 no release date yet on them. Loving the new Rose logo on the tongue and the Chicago art on the inside of the tongue. They do come equipped with a sprintweb upper with full length herringbone on the outsole.

NIKE KOBE VIII
A look at the new Kobe VIII set to be released in 2013 sometime. Kobe had the highest selling basketball shoes with the KobeVII during last year's NBA season. The Kobe's are known to have great performance and also reassuring that the low ankle basketball shoe works just as effectively as any other. The shoe will feature a new Engineered Mesh designed to create a lighter weight body. and the ankle support is also adjustable to a player's comfort level. Nike is definitely using its futuristic technology for this shoe, although they're only experimenting but usually the Kobe's turn out to be the best nike shoe to ball in. shout out to www.counterkicks.com for the photo and dimemag.com for the great review. Here is a pic of the technological sneaker:

THE NIKE AIR MAX HYPERPOSITE
Thank god for release date changes. These two new colorways of the Nike Air Max Hyperposite were originally scheduled to drop on the same day (8/18) as the Golden Moments pack from Jordan. Thankfully, Nike did us all a favour and changed the date. Now, you’ll be able to snatch either one of these sneakers – the Charcoal/Atomic Green and Dynamic Blue/Fireberry – for $225 on September 8.I like these, just wondering if they're heavy or not? to be able to determine whether to play ball in them or just to rock them to chill. Either way I like the collaboration hopefully it evolves throughout the years, because right now they're just looking like a pair of Lebrons with foams on them. Nonetheless, something new something fresh could look better in real life or on feet.
We talken' about practice
Rebook back!! Indeed it is with the likes of Swizzy and Rozay branding your product, it's likely to bring it back to the spotlight. Reebok really did put out classics back in the day though with Shaq,AI,Shawn Kemp, etc. The Answers IV were definitely one of my favourites and a must cop growning up along with all the other Iverson gear. I'm quiet sure they'll be releasing the classics throughout this year and 2013. You know the drill with these retro's, if they're sold out online already, GET YOUR ASS UP EARLY tomorrow to your local footlocker or Champs and cop yourself a pair of these classic AI's. "I mean we talken bout practise, we not talken bout a game, it's practise" -Iverson. Top 10 sports conferences of all time.

Old is Gold
Corny title believe me I know, but when you're fasting the whole day your thought process is a little slow and my creativity is occupied with food and great desserts. More importantly though THE NEW AIR JORDANS DROP TOMORROW. In my opinion they're hot but I'm not the biggest fan of the colours they chose cause gold is just sometimes hard too match and I have no clue how bad scuffed gold looks on a sneaker? The 6's and 7's are incredible Jordan's definitely in my top 5 jays and I'm glad they coming out as a pack. So as my fellow Torontonians know that footlocker stopped doing pre-orders and Champs never did pre-orders for some odd reason. So pretty sure livestock, XTC, and all the other sneaker boutiques probably do pre-orders and them bitches' already sold out. IF not better get your ass up tomorrow early morning and line up for those. By the way Jordan really needs to stop releasing his shows on Saturday mornings man, its people day off nobody wants to wake up early on a Saturday regardless of your age, so reconsider that Mr.23 and try Monday I think we would all agree on going to foot locker on Monday morning rather than work. Some photos of the Gold pack for your contemplating pleasures:

Olympics are over but, these Jordan 7's are for a lifetime
Air Jordan Olympic Sevens dropped about 2 weeks ago here in Toronto. The epidemic was real they sell out extremely fast, in 2 days to be exact all across the city. Of course I was salty over not being able to grab a pair cause I was probably rushing to the LCBO instead of rushing to foot locker. Luckily 2 days ago walking on Yonge St. came across a pair at XTC clothing co. shout out to them, I grabbed a pair and FUCKED UP my finances because I don't got it like that. Jordan STAY in my pocket man. It's all worth it when you just randomly open the sneaker box and appreciate the exclusive kicks for what they are. Sneakerheads know what I'm talking about and know that feeling very well or is it more of a high? anyway I'm addicted. Strictly out of excitement I'm writing this post because I love me a pair of 7's especially the Olympic joints. Here go some pics:

OBEY AWARENESS
"In 2007, to honor the life of Clash founder, Joe Strummer, Billy Bragg launched an initiative in England to provide musical equipment used to rehabilitate UK inmates serving time in Her Majesty’s Prisons. His initiative is named for that very same song, “Jail Guitar Doors.” In 2009, Wayne Kramer partnered with Bragg to found Jail Guitar Doors USA. Together, their combined effort continues the mission for prisoners in America.
Jail Guitar Doors USA believes prisoners provided with the musical tools to create songs of their own can achieve a positive change of attitude that can initiate the work necessary to successfully return to life outside prison walls. Creating music, along with other educational and vocational programs can be a profound force for positive change in a prisoner’s life. Outside of prisons, JGD USA produces events and campaigns to raise funds and bring awareness to prison reform issues and solutions. They seek to work in coalition with social service partner organizations to advance successful ex-prisoner transitions back into the community after incarceration."
So is this considering giving back to the community by the prisoners or the other way around? Personally I think this a brilliant idea and even now they could have like weekly rap battles in jail to occupy these inmates and it could turn into a reality tv show and be highly profitable. Everybody benefits from this process. With that being said some great clothes came from this program in collaboration with Obey:
